بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

90:1Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ

I swear by this land.

90:2Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

وَأَنتَ حِلٌّۢ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ

And you are a resident of this land.

90:3Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ

And by a father and what he fathered.

90:4Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ فِى كَبَدٍ

We created man in distress.

90:5Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّن يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ

Does he think that no one has power over him?

90:6Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُّبَدًا

He says, “I have used up so much money.”

90:7Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّمْ يَرَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ

Does he think that no one sees him?

90:8Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

أَلَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ عَيْنَيْنِ

Did We not give him two eyes?

90:9Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ

And a tongue, and two lips?

90:10Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

وَهَدَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلنَّجْدَيْنِ

And We showed him the two ways?

90:11Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

فَلَا ٱقْتَحَمَ ٱلْعَقَبَةَ

But he did not brave the ascent.

90:12Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْعَقَبَةُ

And what will explain to you what the ascent is?

90:13Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ

The freeing of a slave.

90:14Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

أَوْ إِطْعَـٰمٌ فِى يَوْمٍ ذِى مَسْغَبَةٍ

Or the feeding on a day of hunger.

90:15Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

يَتِيمًا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ

An orphan near of kin.

90:16Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

أَوْ مِسْكِينًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ

Or a destitute in the dust.

90:17Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْمَرْحَمَةِ

Then he becomes of those who believe, and advise one another to patience, and advise one another to kindness.

90:18Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ

These are the people of happiness.

90:19Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا هُمْ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ

But as for those who defy Our revelations—these are the people of misery.

90:20Juz 30 · Madinah page 594

عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌ مُّؤْصَدَةٌۢ

Upon them is a padlocked Fire.
